Hi,

just a quick one, i currently have a Alloy ford Xflow head which has been worked (ported, polished, shaved, H duty springs, big valves etc from my 87' model falcon ute (carby Model). I am wanting to put this head onto my 85 model fuel injected sedan.

Is this a strait swap over and will it use all the original fuel injection set up.

Cheers

Simon

Should work just fine. Ford did some reworks on the head for unleaded, but as long as the compression ratio isn't like 11:1 then it should be okay. Watch polishing the head. It causes increased detonation and loss of power in most applications. Ford Oz did lots of work making the mixture motion of the XF head work well. As long as the head is hasn't been mucked up here, you'll love it.

All post 1983 XE on heads should have clearance for the injectors. The later 86 on EFI system is better, but the 96 octane leaded 85 set up is still well up on the XE EFI set up.
