Head Damage

Just noticed after pulling my engine, putting it on the stand and cleaning it up for a fresh coat of paint....that my upper front flange bolt hole is broken. It was looking a little odd so I touched it and it just fell off. Looked rusty on the inside of threads. Don't think I did it pulling the engine out as I was super careful and bolted on the bottom of the block being careful not to put pressure or strain on it. It's a 68 200 block and I believe a 65 200 head? Can it be fixed or do I just need to invest in a new head?? And also, if this head is that weak should I even consider building the bottom? :(

mine did the same thing except in the back. Got it welded and retapped, no problem. Those bolt eyes are weak for some reason, but the rest of my head was just fine, had it looked at this summer and ported polished milled and a valve job done no prob. Might look into a newer better head but if you wanna stick to the old, its doable

When I bought my head the rear upper hole was broken off (in two) and was missing, I took it to a machine shop and they welded a new one up, it's not very pretty but works fine.
