header help

My car decided to bite the bullet and commit car sucide with 6 cracks to the head, so had to replace the motor. Went with another i6 200

My question is how easy would it to put on a header like this one

The car has A/C so Im sure I have to redo the placement on either the condesnor or the alt

and would it heat my starter up to much

was hoping to put dual flowmasters on it, from the stock. Somebody had told me the stock exhaust system could have cracked my head, im not sure how much this is true, but if it is seems I should change it out as soon as I can get the money.

+1 For $40 less you can get mild steel from Mike at Classic Inlines and I believe they come with the extender tubes, gasket/donut, and spring load flanges now...if I'm not mistaken.

For $100 more you can get it all in Stainless Steel

Not heard great things about the MU header...tight fit...others here have experience with a/c adjustment (minor as I understand it). Good luck

I have the CI header, I like it. the AC bracket I have have lets me use the sanden compressor below the alt. I moved the alt mounting holes out 1.5 inches to clear (.75 inches worked but I wanted more room for safety as it was so close I saw rubbing on the header.) I recommend getting classic inlines header, it's a guarantee fit, was very simple to install for me, and Robert is right as they now have spring ball and socket connections making it very easy to place the way you want. my bracket was modified for $40 (including tip) very cheap if you find a local metal shop.

I heard a 250 with some Clifford Headers and compared it to my sound, mine sounded like a v8 and we had the same MagnaFlow 14inch mufflers, (granted IIRC he had a X pipe) the point is I think the headers make a sound difference and CI's are quality IMHO.

I might be biased but only for good products that I have had experience with.

That would get my vote, ss with ceramic coating if money were no object...but your question makes me wonder what the life expectancy of ss versus mild steel would be...I'm fairly sure it's not just a question of finish look
