HI ALL
I just put that header on my comet... I couldn't get the bottom bolts in on #2 & #5 in as they were too long 1" ers. well 3/4" ones give me enough bolt?
Thanks
Tim

how much are they to long?put the bolt in, bottom it out and use a spacer (pack some washers?) to figure how short you can go. My stock exhuast manifold has spacers on a few bolts, loooks stock too. You can always cut the bolts if theres none the length you need, remember to champer the end to ease install. just an idea.

OH I should have explained better... The bolt its self ain't too long for the hole but with the header on you ( I ) can't get the bolt streight in the hole it hits the heater pipe.l.. and it was such a PITA to get all the other bolts in I didn't want to take any of them out......
May be I can just back them out some and pull the header back to install those bottom bolts but I think I tried that... and I couldn't get them to start.....

Tim, how thick is the flange? If it's 3/8" or less, a ¾" bolt should do fine.

For @ $10 you can get a set of "Header bolts" at your local blister pack small block accessory aisle - NAPA /Autozoo / Advance They are short and have small heads - can't think of the specs right now - take one with you abd matchem...

Still a pain but you can use small 1/4" drive and sockets size which fit better/
