can some explain to me what would be better on my 250 I6, a single outlet header or dual. i have read that a single is better for street driving, why is this? thanks.
Honestly, it isn't going to make a real difference on these engines.
It's more of a preference thing. I like dual exhaust, so I wanted dual outs. Some people don't like that.
In theory, on a smaller engine (4 and some 6 cylinder engines) it is better to have single exhaust to keep the exhaust temp and thus velocity up, but these 6's are fine with dual outs, just run a smaller exhaust, like 1 7/8"s or 2" with dual, 2-2.25 with single.
As Slade alluded too, without the other modifications to go along with it, too big of an exhaust system will decrease torque. The other advantages of the single system are the initial cost, and probably a longer life. The duals are going to see more condensation and internal corrosion.

I believe my pipes are 2.5" to the mufflers, I could be wrong, but thats what I asked for... Im building everything up to go with the turbo, bigger carb, bigger exhaust, better tranny.
