Hi all,

I recently bought a '66 and am completely new to essentially everything automotive, so please bear with my stupidity.

I want to install headers on my 200 ci but have seemingly run into a problem. It was recommended to me to buy some hooker 3 to 1 headers such that I can have a true dual exhaust, which I think sounds good. However, the only headers I seem to have found (Hooker and others) have mentioned something about possible problems with A/C. It sounds like the hooker headers can't be installed if you have AC on the car. I was wondering both if this was true and I cannot install the Hooker headers, and if that is the case, are there any other headers (block huggers possibly?) that will be possible to install on my car even though i have A/C. I'm sure there are straight 6 mustangs out there that have both A/C and headers, but I honestly have no idea where to learn about this. I appreciate in advance all and any help you guys can give me.

Thanks,
Ryan

I can't imangen headers causing a prob with headers... unless its because one of the brackets for the A/C bolts to one of the header bolts.... look and see .... if it does then I see no reason you can't leave a stud at that location and shim it out to match the right distances. then use header bolts at the rest of the studes..
Just my .o2

If you have A/C, all headers currently made will hit the A/C (or Alt) as there just isn't enough room. But it really isn't that difficult to move the A/C (or Alt) to allow for more clearance. The mounting bracket just needs to be modified, which can be done by any welding shop.

As for headers, we are currently out of stock on both styles. I've had them on order for several weeks, and finally got one style in last Thursday. Unfortunately, they were the wrong ones and had to go back. We hope to have them in stock again, within a couple of weeks.
