Help getting the correct starter

I've had a hell of a time getting the right starter for the motor. Engine trans and bell are all C6Dx-xxxx-xxx, but the setup came with no starter. When I go to the parts stores and they can never seem to find the right one.
Here is a picture of the mounting area, can anyone tell me if I'm asking for a starter for the correct year?

Thanks a bunch,

Jim,

The pic looks like a standard two bolt setup to me. Tell them it is for a 67 Falcon/Mustang. They are available here in CA. for anywhere from $25.00 to $55.00. Life is kinda funny - out here they always want to sell me the two bolt instead of the three. :)

Thanks for the reply jimarlie and Junk-Falcon,

If either of you gentlemen have the NAPA part nuber, that would be great.
When I lived in California (where the car was manufactured), I never had a problem getting parts. Chief Auto Parts always seems to get what I needed (go figure) and there was always Pick-a-Part.

Back here in Massachusetts, if you find a Comet (of Falcon) in a bone yard, there aren't any good parts on them. After a few years in this environment, you can usually scrape them up into a dust pan

I went to napaonline and found the starter using a 67 Mustang like jimarlie
suggested and there it was. I printed out the picture and part number and took it to NAPA. I also found out the prices are cheaper at the store than online.

Thanks for the feedback.

The saga continues...
Even with the part number and pictures, Napa got me the wrong starter again..Close, but no cigar. :?

Maybe a hand crank is the next option.

The quest continues

Jim,

Good deal, looks like the problem is solved. You wouldn't have liked the crank option. I had a Model A and Plymouth Coupe that had cranks -no fun but I wished I had them back now.

You can still get the crank on a Citroen. How come it's the French car that needs a crank?
