Hi Guys,
On a 1963 170, what is the orientation of the 2 hoses? Looking at the front of the car, there is one coming out of the right side of the waterpump/thermostat area & one from theleft. Which one is supposed to go on the top heater tube @ the fire wall?

I just hooked them back up & may have mixed them up.

2nd question is: what happens if they are switched from the correct locations? Would this male the engine run hot?
Thanks,

In my manual it shows the hose from the head going to the top inlet, but it should make little or no difference in the performance of the heater, and absolutely no difference to the performance of the engine.

Jack's right, the only thing that would change is the direction of coolant flow through the heater core, and it matters not to heater core function (on the early Falcons anyway).

As someone else mentioned in your other thread, make sure you installed your thermostat correctly. You did put the head gasket on correctly, right?
