This old cool photo just came to my attention and there are a few details that are really interesting. I don't know how to post on this board so I'll email it to anyone who can put it up for me.

Here is what I see-

The yellow motor appears to be a paxton blower set up with triple carbs which looks really bitchin. I am officially looking for one of those starting now.

The red one looks like fuel injection? and where do those zoomie headers stick out on the car?

And the blue one has the offy set up- but the discerning eye will note that it is set up is either not progressive or progressive with the outer two carbs coming on first and the center carb as a secondary which would be the opposite of the offy set up that i have and have seen. Not sure what is going on there but the levers are longer on the outer carbs.

is the picture on the web? or emailed to you?

I fit is on the web....we can post it here...

post a link on how you see it if its on the web and we can get it up here....

its not on the web just a jpg on my computer- its the cover of the may 1960 HOT ROD.

I believe you are talking about the Falcon sixes that Stroppe built in the early 60's . According to this article they are 144 ci. The first one is a Hilborn mechanical injection (you can see the fuel pump where the alternator is usually located). The second one is a 3x1V induction set up, and altough the paxton supercharged one is not pictured it was also built by Stroppe. From what has been discused not a lot is know about these engines or for that matter what was their application, but is really cool to see that even in it's early days someone was already thinking of modifying the ford inline six

can anyone host this photo for me- and put it up- i will e-mail it to you. It is really cool! color photo of three inlines ready to go in a 60 falcon!!!

I have the magazine (Hotrod) and there were 2 or 3 months of articals on the new compacts from Ford, GM and Mopar in 1960. The object was to modify them to see how they would do. The Corvair and Valiant smoked the Falcon. Ford had the lowest HP to start with.

A year ago I called Vortec Super Chargers as they are now the owners of Paxton and unless you have a 5.0 Mustang the can't and wont help you.

Offy still makes the 3x1 intakes for Ford 6's and Cliffy reproduces the MOPAR hyper pack 4 bbl intake. And then there is the Corvair. Last I saw, Corsa West in So.Cal. still promotes these little beasts. They sell new and used parts and race a few in SCCA auto cross events.

Chrysler went on to produce a kit called Hyper Pack that was rated at 225 hp on the 225 cu in, motor and 170 Hp on the 170 cu.in. motor. GM had a multitude of hp ratings on the Corvair and went Turbo as well. I read some place that Ford was going to do the same, but never followed through.
