Help ID a 200 cc 6 Cyl Engine

I have the chance to pick up a 200 ci engine with tranny from a generous donor. I currently have a 200 ci six with C4 from a 69 Falcon in my 63 Custom Convertible (burns a little oil). The "new" engine did not burn oil. The donor is not sure about the ID of the motor. Can anyone inform us where to look for the casting numbers and any other features to help ID it?
-And any thoughts or suggestions about the wisdom of the swap would be appreciated....
Thanks in advance!

Howdy Marc:

Look for Casting numbers. The head will have a mark cast onto the log behind the carb pad. It will be a series of 9 or 10 letters and numbers. XXXX XXXX-x or xx. The ones you're looking for are the middle 4 digit series of letters and numbers like "C9DE".

The ist two digits will give you the casting year.
C = 1960
9= year, this is a 1969 casting used in the 1969 and later model years.

The block casting # are under the exhaust manifold, about midway from front/back. It is not unusual to have different casting numbers between the head nd block for a stock, OEM engine.

Adios, David
