Help ID My Carb

My mechaninc says I need a new carb- this is the one I have on my 63 Comet with a 200 ci 1969 Falcon 6 in it. It worked fine for years as a weekend cruiser.

Can anyone ID it for me? It is a Holley.

And should I get a different one instead? Not looking to set any speed records but decent ga milage would be nice.

Thanks-

I would object to anyone saying I need a “newâ€￾ carb. If you can handle simple repairs you can rebuild a carb. Just take your time and make sure you pay attention when you dismantle.

Good luck, Ric.

John of Pony carbs holds one of these up in a video and says they are of no value as a core. Obviously he only wants 1100s. Does this have any particular advantage otherwise? I have one in my garage and was thinking of rebuilding it, just cause.

Thanks everyone-
It is indeed a Holley 1940 - this is what it says on the Pony Carb site:

"Autolite 1940 - 1 Bbl. Holley aftermarket
This carburetor is not an original piece. This is a factory replacement (1100) made for Ford by Holley. Note the choke cap. It is much different than the original Autolite 1100. The ID number indicates that it is aftermarket by the "P" in the number. "

Here is the link:

So I guess that means I can replace it with a rebuilt Autolite 1100, or rebuild it with Holley 1940 rebuild kit. Am I on the right track?

Thanks for all the advice (and patience....)
