I have heard that the stock oil pump doesn't have enough flow so it causes problems at highway speed. I have called the local part's houses they say that they cant get a hi flow pump. I would like to know if I need to find a hi flow or if that is a myth.
Thanks!

I don't think anyone makes a high pressure or high volume pump for the small sixes. Mine has 45-60 psi oil pressure with a new stock pump, Mellings, I think.

8) the atock oil pump flows plenty of oil. i would avoid high volume or high pressure pumps unless you really need them. these pumps are hard on the distributor gears, and the roll pins that hold them in place. this is most prevalent with the 351w engines, but true with other ford engines none the less. besides the high volume and high pressure pumps require more power to turn them thus harming fuel economy. also these engines have little enough power, why add more drag on one?

not trying to go against what your saying but I have yet to hear of a case of one of our motors running out of oil. I have driven mine a few hundred miles at highway speeds and has seen 62-6300 rpms and doesnt tick, knock or make ANY noises. even supplying a turbo with a stocker pump and havent had any problems.
