Holley 1946 jetting

Just put a 1983 200/6 and C5 in but it's running really rich.
All the smog equipment has been removed.
Carb currently is running an .066 main jet.
Used my 1940 Holley (with .062 Main jet) to see if it would alleviate the problem.
It seemed to help a bit.
Just wondering if the other carb might be too lean with an .060 jet.
Anyone had any experience with this particular setup.

I can verify that the stock jet in my Holley 1946 was .061 or so.
I went to a .66 when breaking in the new motor and have just now gone back to to the smaller one.
Haven't done a lot of driving or checked the plugs yet, but with the larger jet they were too sooty and dark, but not to the point of needing cleaning.
But my motor has a modified head, and I haven't yet been out to check if the change has affected the power on the highway.

Edited my post.It was late and my old butt was tired.
Carb is actually a 1946 model Holley.
I have a 78 model carb (original), so maybe I need to check the mani jet size on it.
I'm currently using the 83 carb (with an .066 factory main jet).

Jackfish is correct - the stock jet on a 1946 Holley should be a 61 or 62.
I had a 67 jet in mine, but that was with a modified 250 motor.
Try a 62 or 63 jet, it should run better.

Pulled the carb apart. Jet was a #68 (factory 1983 carb).
Rejetted with a #60 and car runs beautifully.
No thick exhaust fumes, more power around town.
Haven't done much hiway driving, but what little I did seem to be smooth.
Now I'm gonna tackle the distributor timing.
Need to get some baseline MPG's first
