Hello all, this is my 1st post here. I just bought a 62' F-100 uni. w/223. I need to rebuild the carb., It has a holley 2043 1 bl. carb. Question is, would this be original? I had a heck of a time tracking down a rebuild kit for it and I cannot find any info. on this carb. Has anyone here had any experience with them? Thanks.

are you sure it's a 2043 and not a 1904? 1904's were used on the 223 for a number of years. haven't seen that carb model anywhere's that pertains to a 223. doesn't it have a tag held in place by a srew on the top of the carb?where did you find that number 2043?

I found it on top the carb, body, float bowl side. LIST 2043 N

I too have never heard of this carb. I even did a google search and found nothing. I called holley, they gave me the kit # for it and I ordered it. Everything else on this truck is pretty much original. thanks

ford had the 2043 listed for years of 58/59/60. . . its pretty much the 1904 from what i understand, different this, that and the other thing, which makes it no different from the rest of the 1904's  buggers anyhow

Thanks, at least I know they're on these motors at some point. My kit should be in this week, can't wait to put it back together again. BTW, are you guys with the 61'-66' ford trucks in the slick 60's?

nope. 25 yr old here. but i like hearing stories about the sixties and learning all the cool stuff that went on in the hobby back in the sixties.

The slick 60's is a 61-66 ford truck club full of members who love this era truck. just do a search for slick 60's. I have a 62' short uni and a 65' short wide bed.

Update- I finally got my kit from Holley, Rebuilt the carb, now running great, after some linkage adjustments. FWIW- they send a kit for a 1904 for a 2043, the drawings in the kit are for a 1904, and after comparing the the two, there is defitely differences between the 2 but basically use the same parts. Thanks for your help.
