Hood scoop options

I'm interested in buying a new hood with scopes. For one hood scopes look cool, but second the clearance of an air cleaner on my Holley/Weber 5200. I plan to buy a billet oval air cleaner.

As for hoods, I'm juggling between the standard 65 Shelby hood

and the modified 65 hood with 67 hood Shelby scoops

The second hood gives me more flexibility on hood clearance. Since the air cleaner is off-center, I'd figure the 65 Shelby hood might not give me the fullest in clearance. What do you guys think on which one is better?

Since the carb/ air cleaner assembly is offset from the hood centerline to the passenger side, I´d go for the much wider ´67 shelby scoop.

think about a homemade baseplate made from aluminum sheet and foam rubber gasket to insulate the carb to the scoop. True ram air!

Even though I have the 1st hood, I like the 2nd hood better!!! :D :D :D

the 67 scoops look mean and tuff, and theyd be better functionally too for the clearance, AND if you were gonna hook up a direct ram air, you have more air comin in.

too bad you can`t get the maverick grabber scoops on a stang hood :D that would bee neet lookin

I like #2...it kinda reminds me of the 05 mustang 2 scoops

while #1 reminds me of the 02 Bullit was it?

i only know of one site with hood scoops

http://www.up22.com

anyone know of any others that have unique bolt on scoops...i still cant find anything i really like but i know its out there....and it needs to be bolt on cause its for a monarch....and i dont think cowl would look good....but the hood on that stang looks killer...

i have an aero scoop on my granada u can find it at up22.com although i have been waiting for over a month for a plug for it. it is the scoop i have on my car i'll try to get you a pic if u like.

Go to the parking lot and look at my pickup (last I knew it was the bottom). thet is a home made scoop. The opening is off of an '52 F3.

that looks quite good ....would be a fun project...did u make some sort of mold and lay fiberglass on/in it???? i have a design on paper for a sweet hood for the car but would require cutting up the hood and welding and all that fun stuff to make it look good afterwards....i think something like what u did may be funner....

***wheres my car???maybe it didnt get sent through properly???oh well....i can wait till its better before resubmitting.****

just wondering where someone would actually find a link to the parkinglot...the way i found it before was actually through the kastang.net website....sweet site by the way cobrasix....

Actualy it is metal left over from building my travle trailer. I found the grill piece at the junk yard and made a wood mock up of the scoop and bent/shaped the metal over it and then pop riveted the scoop on to the hood after I cut out the air passages. Then bondo and co smoothed it down to look cool. (I don't weld.)

I checked out Mustangs Plus and looked over their fiberglass hoods. I found a pic with the hood I want on a mustang.
