hot rod 6

The bungs on the headers, is that for AFR on each cylinder for tuning, thats cheating, but very smart, can you read all six at one time on a single screen while tuning, sorry I took attention away from your build with my concerns on the oil slinger, that is a very neat well set up intake and carbs, I for one like your choice of cam and combo, I bet you get between 225 and 250 horses out of that with still maintaining a good bottom end. I personally like the 264/ 110 and it would be the largest I would use in an often driven vehicle N/A, I can also appreciate the dollars you have in it. Just curios, whats your CR if I missed it.

Like mike said, flatten out the slinger,or
I say leave it off.

I would also like to say now that every body is listening.
When I told mike I had problems he did not blow me off, I told him what was up and he was more than helpful with a supportive additude not leaving me out in the cold.

I promote him and his parts. :!:

Broncitis, thats cool you didn't hijack the thread.
As far as crank thrust it was at .007 (normal) and the cam was even less.
I looked at the slinger the first time I went together and it was close but it cleared, just not enough.
Did your builder install a double roller chain set?
If so and if you are worried about it just pull the pan and check be for you fire the motor.
You will be able to reuse the pan gasket if you are careful.

225/250 hp might be a little optimistic @ 8.7 to 1 cr,
I be stoked with 190/200 hp.
Drove it to work today and it scoots right along @ 65 mph and that still being easy on it, 2200 rpm with the gear and tires I have on it.

Does that actually fit under the hood?! Not that three Webers sticking out of the hood is a bad thing...

No it will not fit under the hood of a car but with a little modification it did fit under the dog house in my van.

Don't forget those are 6" filters with velosity stacks inside you can run a lower profile filter with out the stacks.

Man, I would love to hear an audio recording of that thing winding out from inside the cab. The sound of the air being draw through those Weber carbs during full throttle acceleration must be truly musical.

62 your are probably correct with 190 to 200 with that C/R, still pretty darn good, I sure understand what you said about MIKE, I support him every chance I get, I wish more people realized how much he does for us for small six guys, I have bothered him countless times.

Thanks guy's

Here is a couple of pics of the exhaust system I made up.
2.25 three chamber flowmasters and mandrel bends done with a 135 hobart / miller wire feed. You really can do at home. 8)

Awesome! I get the feeling you enjoyed making it, too.

Can we use the "Legendary Thread" picture?

Ok here is my build,
I had some problems, and with the help of Mike @ CI and some guys on this forum I was able to pull it off.

1967 block 204" (.040) over, CI alum head, a hand made Intake I built my self that holds three 44 idf webers, csc 264/110, and all the wammy
machine work needed to put it together. In my opinon do not use a oil slinger with a double roller chain.
It cleared the chain on assembly although it was close, But it did not clear during normal driving conditions. The chain grabed the edge and chewed it up and threw it in the oil pan and restricted the oil flow enough to take out the cam, lifters, main and rod bearings and of course the oil pump.
All this in just 900 miles.
So I called Mike and reordered the parts and had the crank ground again.
And fired it up on 1/2/09 so far so good.
Heres a pic of it, and by the way it is in a station bus with c4 and 9 inch that I built. :D

Thanks again
For this fourm/Mike
and your guys input,

Kevin

That things sweet lookin!! 8) 8)

I too ditched the oil slinger when I put my new engine together. No worries after 2 years of driving. :)

Later,

That is seriously cool 8)
I've been wondering for a while what one of these would look like with tripple down draught webers.......it's better than i imagined! :D

Do you have any photos of it installed?
