ive got a 68 stang with the 200. i was just reading about the way pre 68 distributors work and how they can have problems if you use a newer carb. so what about my 68 distributor? im planning on getting a holley/webber 5200 2 barrel carb and using the clifford adapter but will this be a problem for my 68 distributor? it looks like it has two vaccuum lines plugged in around where the advance diapham is. i was also going to ugrade later to the pertronix ignition. since the carb and linkage was butchered and the carb leaks fuel bad i have yet to get it to start. add on top of this that despite my extensive experience with cars with v8s ive never owned or seen anything like this ford straight six (the linkage is a nightmare!). i was initially encouraged by the simplicity but the carb and distributor is freaking me out. im not above the nuclear option of just finding an aftermarket distributor the has a simpler vac. or mechanical advance but if the 68 distributor will comply with my carb choice, id like to use it. thanks for any help.

lol alot of people go with the DS II from 76 and later inline 200s. total bolt in. just need the dizzy from a junk yard or parts store. and the control module.

I'm running a H/W 5200 with a 68 distributor and Pertronix on my 65 Mustang. It works great!

why are there two vaccuum lines on the 68 distributor? i can understand one is for the advance but whats the deal with the other? trashline, i didnt know you came here.
