How do i tell the CFM?

I don't mean to sound like a smart @$$, but have you emailed the seller and asked?

ya he said he thought it was a 450cfm but he didn't really know. as far as i know there is no 450... i thought there was just a 350 and 500 2 bbl like that. im not positive though.

Ah I see your delimma. I have the 350 cfm for my holley 2300 2 bbl.

I have a bunch of pictures of it on my cardomain page. Link in my sig below.

ya thats what im looking for to put on mine... do you like yours?

I'm loving it. I have a full on custom built Flowmaster 2" exhaust ant its breathing out the tail pipe so nicely. I should have junked that 1 bbl years ago.

are you running the factory header or do you have a performance header?

I'm running the stock exhaust manifold for now. I'm looking real hard at the clifford ceramic coated headers though.

I'll have to sell my spare tranny for my import tuner to get the headers for the Mustang.

This is my other car

Back on topic though I ordered my carb through Summit and got a brand new carb. Then ordered an adapter from Cliffore performance.

I had to fabricate the throttle linkage and I'm still not done with that.

It works but I'm not real convinced that is how I want it. I need to move it away from the exhaust manifold a little or build a heat shield or something.

did you use the original linkage? i have heard a throttle cable is the way to go with this carb.

I used the original bar linkage right up to the side of the motor. Then I used a universal cable going down below the bar then wrapping back around up to a universal throttle bracket attached to the carb.

Then I used a universal cable choke for a truck to operate the manual choke on the carb.

Then I got a chrome Edelbrock air filter and used a 2 inch tall filter.

so does the throttle cable run to your gas pedal? and if so what pedal did you use? i'm still not sure how you are using both the linkage and a cable at the same time.

It looks like bidding has ended with odysseyguy13 as the winner. Give me a day or so I'll find my Holey book at home ther are pages of carb numbers in the back. Before I bought the book I went to Holley's website and submitted a carb number. I bought the book and decoded it myself before they replied. I'll try to be more expedient then they were..

That is one of the more ingenious uses of the original throttle rod that I have ever seen. Any idea if the cable is binding at all?

ya i went ahead and bid on it figuring it was cheap enough so if i bought it and didn't use it it wasn't a big deal... i will just have to rebuild it. I appreciate you looking up the number for me, thats a big help.

I am using the stock pedal with the stock throttle rod. It comes from the pedal through the fire wall. Makes a 90 degree right turn then follows the firewall towards the right side of the car. Makes another 90 degree left and the bar runs up the side of the motor on the right side.

When you push the pedal down the bar goes up next to the motor. By attaching the cable to the bottom of the bar it pulls up thus pulling the cable up. By anchoring the cable to the inner fender below the throttle bar is what pulls the cable at the throttle on the carb. The cable runs down from the bar to the inner fender then follows the inner fender away from the motor eventually looping upwards to be level with the carb.

The cable is lubed and I'm not getting any binding.

I am the president of Arizona Mazda Club and on my car club website/forum my screen name is rednecks_r_us. So my linkage is a little rednecked but it works.

The old carb was going to the grave rapidly and the car wouldn't even idle any more and would flood out, even after a rebuild (twice). Once by me & once by a shop.

So I put this carb on after work one night. Well I ran out of time before I needed to call it a night so this is what was fabricated out of necessity to get to work at O'dark hundred then next (same) morning.

Its been on for a week and is doing awesome. The only thing I need to correct is the throttle return bracket I made on the drivers side is too week. It flexes a little causing the car to idle a little faster than I want.

ok thanks doug... i will check on that when i get it in the mail.
