How to identifiy 144cui. or 170cui.

Hi dose anyone know how to tell a 144cui. from a170cui. six? I know there is a letter stamped in the block but what is the letter for a 144cui. and what is the letter for a 170cui. I heard the letter is stamped in the block is near the water pump. I have 1963 Falcon dr. coupe any help would be helpful Thank's
