I have hit a snag, as expected.

I have the new carburetor bolted on and hooked up, with the exception of the throttle linkage. I turned the engine over and fuel spewed out of this fitting above the fuel inlet. I have 3/8" hose coming from the fuel filter to the fuel inlet. Right above the fuel inlet is a small fitting with threads. The protruding end is an open cylinder (very small diameter). What the hell is this? Why does the fuel leak out of there? I guess for now I can plug it with a screw. I

Thanks

P.S. I have my fire extinguisher ready.

Is the float set too high? That could be overfill fuel venting?

But not familair with teh carb you have...do you have a pic or url for a similar type of carb?

Steve,

Here is a link to the old setup (that was a temporary fuel line). With the old carburetor there is one fuel inlet. On the new carb, the fitting I mentioned is right above the fuel inlet. I plugged it with a screw; which seems to work for now. Also, it is idling very fast. I had the idle screw backed out as far as it will go and the timing is correct. Is still idles very fast. I do not know what is causing this.
