Today at the GoodGuys Autumn Get Togather at the Pleasonton faigrounds, i picked up 3 good condition embelms for my comet. I paid a dollar for them. I looked them up in the book if i were to buy them and it says all three together, are about 100 bucks. But my BIGEST find was a brand new 1969 flat top head. It was bran spanken new. it looks as it was just from the shop. It has all new valves, new freeze plugs, freshly painted, and a 1.75 intake hole. I paid 50 dollars for it. I also stoped by ppg and picked the color for my car. I just love swap meets!!!!

Curtis-
You scored! I usually go the Pleasanton Good Guys swap meet, but instead tiled my bathroom (go to keep the "boss" happy"). There is a vendor from Modesto that has 3 stands and he always has tons of Falcon and some Comet trim pieces, but the best finds are DEEP under the debris on someone's tarp or blanket. I even found a Mercury Man Head Cookie Cutter last year for 50 cents. Well, I guess I should add in the cost of gas, bridge toll, snacks on the way there, admission for 2 people, lunch, and hot wheels car for my son- but it was still a bargain for 40 bucks!
Glad to hear about the head - hope you did not have to carry it around all day!

I go to the P-town goodguys every chance I get. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to this last one, the wife had prior plans for me. The swap meet has been getting better the last few years. Seems like all the guys selling the same old rusty chevy crap have thinned out a bit. I saw TWO guys selling buick 215 parts last spring. SofSeall usually sells out of all the falcon weatherstripping in the first three or four hours, every time. You'd think they'd figure it out after three or four years. My big smile score last spring was a 30 inch international harvester semi truck air horn and chain valve, so shiny (after I cleaned it), sooooo loud.
