I need a new clutch.

I need help finding the parts I need. I've got a a 66 3.03 three speed. Where can I find the parts and what options do I have? I have a friend who's going to install it for me, but he can't find the parts and doesn't have the time to search for it. NPD has the clutch disc and the release bearing but not the pressure plate. I don't know much about clutches except when they stink and mine stinks. Any help will be appreciated.

its a two bolt starter. Looking back at some old posts that it should be a 9inch clutch. And I also saw an old post from Jack saying he thought a clutch kit for a 78-79 fairmont would work. Has anyone used one and know for sure.

i just put a nine inch clutch in the 200 i had in my mav it has about 50 miles on it.if you need it i'll get rid of it real cheap.the whole kit when i got it cost me 126.00 with my discount.but like you said its not easy to find.if your interested call me.603-210-1611.or email me adminzeus@comcast.net

9" clutch kits are easy to come by, where have you been looking? The late 70's versions offer a diaphragm pressure plate, which was used for the cable-actuated clutch. RAM, Centerforce, etc make performance clutch kits for that application as well.

Where I've been looking is for applications specific to a 66 mustang and from what i've seen is you can't hardly find the pressure plates. So i'm asking is do the seventies versions work? Like I said, I know very little about clutches, but I'm assuming my clutch isn't cable actuated, so would the diaphragm plate work in my setup as is or would I have to change it to cable actuated, if that is even possible which again I don't know. Thanks.

You should not have a problem using the diaphragm pressure plate in place of your standard 3-finger pressure plate. However, pedal effort will be reduced greatly. You will probably have to play some games with different springs to get the pedal pressure to a point where it feels good.
