Fordthunder, go and buy a reco motor or get a reputable engine builder to do yours. If you don't, I can just imagine the thousands of dollars your going to waste. At the very least, go and do a short course or tafe course as an introduction to some basic engine building principles.

I have school to attend and no time and money to wait on tafe when i can just get my dad to build it for me he use todrag in a ford falcon XY GT over in perth and he got the WA fastest gear change there don't know if he still hold it but he use to be the top back them so ill get a few idea and help off him but i really wanted to do is build up a car without help of my father.

Ok lets start at basics..... What is wrong with the motor in it????
Can you just put a cam in it and not re-build it altogether..
GEt some extractors..
GET a 3.45 diff for it. THis will GREATLY improve accelaration.
A diff from an EB xr6 should fit, you will need the eb tail shaft as well
It will rev at around 2800-3000 rpm at 100 km though..
You should be able to get all the above for under 1000.

LOL nothing wrong with if beside it smokes a little just i know my luck id get it on the road and it will all go down and piston seal and shit will be fuck stuff like that
But i think if i don't rebuild here ill just get a new valve stems and cam and just put the gearbox on and go from there but i just worryed why the guy who owned it before stoped driving it and left it in his garden for no good reason. and he said fine and when your trying to get read of the car people will say anything
About 10 mins before i read what DYNOED250 said my dad said why rebuild it? it run just neads new valve stems. LOL
anyone know of a good rearbox that has long gear, or fast accleration or something good about it im after a good gearbox for my XF just something easy to bolt on and not really expensive just something ask for at wreckers

some ultra sealing gaskit kit for $160 there meant to be very good brand
some brand piston ring for $123
ACL bearing for complete motor for $100
also im be buying a 25/65 cam later with larger injector and fuel pump that will give me a nice bit of power
then later ill gte a 40thou or 60 thou bore and get larger injector and fuel pump and all new and better stuff
is it me or at the piston rings over priced cause when i herd the prices on them i was screaming, with my finger over the phone mic lol

lol yes cars and bashing head againest wall LMAO im going to take it into shop to get the computer done after ive put all the gear on it no way id just go out and drive it untuned with new injectors and all without upgrading the computer
