Guys, I have a problem. Recently ive been having rough starts that i usually never have. Also, somtimes once its warmed up and I start driving it will start sputtering and try to stall. :( When I sit at a light with my foot on the brake it runs extremly rough, so I have to throw it in neautral because im afraid it will stall. Also, when it sputters and has a lower idle I can hear my eninge start to knock a little. Like piston slap. This scares me. :? Im guessing my ignition module has something to do with it? what do you guys think?

8) replace it! My Wife's old fairmont and my Son's Granada suffered the same thing. For some added piece of mind........change to a new coil too. It's worked for us with great results.

Well, good news and badnews. The bad news is that I bought but I dont need a new ignition module but im keeping it anyway. The badnews is that I replaced it and the problem was still there. I remeber awhile ago when I pressed on the brake the eninge bogged a little. Then my master cylinder went out on me. So I replaced it. Jsut now I unplugged the vacum hose to my booster. I plugged the hose with a plug and the car ran much better. It looks like im going to have to replace my booster. :x 82 dollars!!! Would a bad booster cause an eninge to run like crap, and start hard? Thanx kev

Yes, a bad booster diaphragm will do what you describe. It's like creating a severe vacuum leak whenever you step on the brake pedal.

I bought a vacum booster installed it and im up and running again. Does anyone know how boosters break?
