Well I have a new issue come up with the 67' mustang. When I go to start it, when I turn the key over it wants to start in the run position as well as the start position. I have replaced the starter solenoid and that didn't fix the problem. The only thing I can think of is either in the wiring, or the the ignition switch itself. If anyone has any suggestions, ideas, or has come across this themselves and can give me some advice I will greatly appreciate it. Thanks!!!

If it keeps trying start in the run position AFTER you have had the key in the start position, my money would be on a weak/sticking bendix in the starter that is not kicking the starter back off. If it tries to start when you put the key in the run position from the off position (never moving it to the start position) then I'd suspect the switch.

thanks, it starts in the run position without ever reaching the start position. I'll get a new switch and try that. I guess that is my best bet and then just keep narrowing it down from there.

yeah, the 2 wires on the solenoid I tagged so i would know what was what when i was putting everything back together.
