I installed the rebuilt Autolite 1100 on my 170 and the car started fine. But it was reving very high.I slowed it down by adjusting the fast idle screw but it seems that when I start it again it still runs very fast until the choke kicks off.Faster than it use to.It also seems that I am blowing a little smoke that I never use to.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

WHAT COLOR SMOKE?

having my 1100 rebuilt right now. I am smoking BEFORE install. running real rich, especially at warmup (my choke tube is fried also)

next,I am going to tighten my head bolts...after timing adjust, smoking more than usual!

You may need to adjust the Choke Unloader. This is a mechanical setup with the Choke, and throttle linkage. Thare is a white nylon/plastic nut. This is the adjustment that will kick down the Choke from High Idle. Turn the nylon/plastic nut in 1/2 turn increments until when you hit the throttle, it will bump off the high speed idle to the regular idle circuit.
