a maverick owner in my town wants to know what to torque the intake head to and if there is any specific sequence to follow.

step 1 is 40-45 lbs
step 2 is 50-55
step 3 is 60-65

13 8 4 1 5 9 12
14 7 3 2 6 10 11

i tried to replicate the graphic in the Ford Falcon Performance Handbook.

It would show you starting in the center of the head and torquing the bolts in a circular/spiral pattern, working your way out to the ends of the head.

Relax time is important. 20 minutes between first and second stages, long as possible between second and final torquings (preferably overnight). You back off ¼ turn and then swing the bolt up to spec. (Only back off the actual bolt being torqued.)

Also a tiny dab of motor oil or moly grease on the bolt thread, under its head and on any head bolt washers, is necessary for an accurate reading.

What? You don't like those torque spikes followed by the Mach 10 knuckle buster and loose bolt?
