More information on the Nissan L-series intake and exhast.
I'm almost finished my gearbox adaptor swap for my Falcon.
As an aside as I wait for some of my parts to arrive, I've been doing further work on this.
Remember then need for a good manifold for a chopped log? Well, here it is!!!
Here is a custom L28 Turbo instillation by Tony Middleditch in 1990 in his FJ Holden. It uses the split pulse water cooled TO3 turbo used in Nissan RB30ET engines, and
Here is a dirty, nasty, unprofessional shot of my LD28 diesel intake.
Both the L28, LD28 have the same exhast and intake bolt pattern. Many guys in New Zealand turbo there LD28's, but few really do it well. I'm proposing using the LD28 intake and exhast pattern on a cut-off log head.
The idea is simple. A turbo intake sells for LD28 engines, and allows more space for a big turbo. The shot above shows how long the Diesel intke manifold is campared to the custom intake made for the L28 Turbo.
If I duplicate the LD28/L28 248/260/280 Z bolt spacing, I can sell one kind of intake and exhast for
The Diesel 2800 cc
Any 240, 260, 280 C, D, K or Z
Any 144-250log head.
All thats needed is the right adaptors to fit turbos and the right custom intake.
If you reverse the top photoS, you'll see a turbo will fit a log head Falcon, Comete, Mustang, Monarch if the log is sawn off. There will also be room for injectors, so it will suit a carb turbo, EFI turbo, or EFI non-turbo set-up.
