I would like to keep the three/tree, but the 300 that a friend might have for me is complete but an automatic. Pros/cons to doing a complete swap (engine/trans)? The auto would prolly be a hassle to fit....
Would a 5-speed trans (from an f150 for ex) fit on there - is the linkage similar to the 3-speed?
Does it have external links?
Would the shift pattern work on the tree or would I have to go to the floor?
Answered my own questions. I looks to me like that swap wouldn't work. All the 5speed/f150's that I find seem to be top-loaders. hm.
