Hey, the high temp RTV trick worked, for now at least.
I had the motor up and running for a little while lastnight. The only smoke was comming from the vacuum line I had left lying on the exhaust pipe. Oops!
So, now I am going to break in my cam this weekend and then work on timing and tuning.
From there, I am off to the alignment shop to get all my new steering and supsension parts straightened out. And then off to the exhaust shop to get my headers installed and a new exhaust system weled up.
It was a little bumpy at the beginning, but things seem to me moving along nicely now. (Knocking on wood for luck as I type)
Thanks for all your suggestions and help. I wouldn't be where I am today if it were not for you all.
Sincerely,
Ted

Ted,

My assistant (Bob) will be up that way tomorrow. I'll have him bring that "Powered by Ford" valve cover with him and you guys can met up. I'll have him call you in the AM, before he leaves here.

Glad to hear you got it going and got the exhaust leak stopped. Are you going to take it for a spin around the block over the weekend?

I guess I could take it out of the garage for a spin. At least then, I will know if I need to bleed my breaks a little more.....LOL.
Well, I still need to mess around with the timing and tuning. Then, if I have time, I will take it out for a little bit. I am still in dire need of an alignment. Maybe, I'll do that this weekend.
Thanks again for all you help.
Ted
