Thanks to everyone here who helped me with getting my 200 up and running.

When I bought the 65 mustang, the engine was just a grease trap with dirt dauber nests. After a complete rebuild of the engine and the carter YF, I replaced all engine bay accessories except the A/C; installed a Duraspark II, set initial timing to 12deg adv and would you beleive............ it cranked!

Ran it for 30 minutes, guesstimating I had it around 2000rpm, (didnt have a Tac), changed oil and filter, restarted and adjusted timing to 17 deg advanced and its purring now with the new exhaust I had installed. :D

My C4 tranny Ive got it attached to isnt working in Reverse or Low, (I rebuilt that over a year ago), but I'm trying to work thru that issue with soem guys on the Ford Transmission Forum. But as for the engine, I owe you guys a world of thanks!

Maybe a band adjustment issue? If I remember correctly, reverse and low use the same band and drum.

Pulled the transmission back out and inspected it. Looks like the TC I bought was 26 teeth and the input shaft on the tranny is 24. The 24 fit into the TC but slipping.
