Here's my idear. Is it feasable to yank the fuel injection of a 97 jeep cherokee, rail, pump, cpu all the stuff needed..drill and tap injector holes...basically open the 1.75" hole to a holley 500 cfm shaped hole..use the clifford holley plate and weld 2- 1.75" aluminum pipes to the plate and run those pipes into one 3" and then into a conical K+N filter, and have the jeep injection on there with the injectors mounted on top pointing down the log ports..seems it would work..

what do ya think? anybody do something like this yet?

8) yes you can make the system work with a bit of effort. accel sells injector bungs that you can use to install the injectors in the head.

Did this ever go anywhere or did anyone check out more about it?

This idea has been kicking around for years and has gone nowhere for many reasons:

Cost - Even scrounged EFI can get pricey when you add up all the little bits that you need to install between the fuel tank and engine.

Skill - Not only do you need to be able to do custom machine work, you have to be able to figure out all the electronics and mechanics of hooking it together. Few people have the talent or resources available. If you farm it out, see cost, above.

Outcome - no matter what you do to deliver fuel and air to a log head, in the end it is still a log. The airflow and resulting power output will be dissappointing in light of cost and skill invested, above.

If power output is not a primary consideration, then a simple TBI on the log will yield good driveabliity, economy, and even some increase in power, but only if you can overcome cost and skill, above.

Bottom Line - after you think about it, it just isn't tenable. However, there are those who may eventually pursue it just because it can be done.

Cool, thanks for the good explanation, makes more sense now.
