Kelly goes 99.66mph in the 1/8th at Vegas!

what are you guys using for a carb to hat gasket?

Nothing.

I just made sure the hat mated nicely to the carb. The seal is perfect.

Linc's,
We tried that at the track; lost 2lbs. of boost.
Yes I could've probably turned up the wastegate to gain that back, but right now I can't dial it in accurately enough to ensure we'll hit the same boost number as her qualification runs.
Kelly knows how to "fender race" pretty good at the top end, but if I crank the gate up and we hit 18lbs. (or more!) then she break out for sure!

Gravelrash,
Here are your pics!

Here's the old setup with the crappy P.O.S. Demon carb.

If you look closely you'll see that the turbo is sitting a bit taller. The header that is now on Kelly's car is one that I made for a high mount starter 170/200. Her original header/downpipe is now on Mike's '69.
You may also notice that the fuel lines are on the opposite side of carb as norm for a center hung float. Turns out that Braswell carb (aka Quickfuel Tech.) has bowls that can use either side of the bowl for fuel. I got my set from http://www.donshotrodshop.net

Hasa68'stang,
No problem, I'll get a couple on order tomorrow! PM me with shipping addy.

does10s,
love the pics, its amazing how similar both our engines now look. although it looks like you have more room between the 2v manifold and the shock tower than i have. my turbo dump pipe is a little diffeent though.

cheers Greg

just wondering what problems you had with the barry grant carb compared to the (holley??) you running now?
