Well, all thats left is to hook up the carb and get the linkage, fuel line and jets right. Anyone recomend the best ways about doin the linkage??? I think I can do the fuel line myself. Mustanggeezer, howd you insulate it all??? Most importantly, what jets should I run. I dont have a dyno that I can redily use right now so I just want to get it running enough to get around till I can get to one. Also, if I go to a dyno to tune, should I bring my own jets etc. What all should I bring, and what size jets etc. This will be a first time experience for me, so please give as much info as possible.

I used a throttle cable and pedal from 78 Granada, easy swap. As for jets read your spark plugs. I use 52s in my small Holley 2bbl, it's about 280 cfm. Russell

So I have to replace the pedal to run cable?? Hmmmm. I am running a Holley 350 so what should I do about jets for it? I might try Mustang Geezer's linkage extension. I want a cable set up eventually, but oh well. Where would I get a cable pedal other than junkyard?

I used a piece of conduit to lengthen the accelerator rod so I could hook it up to mine. Like Russell said, convert it to a cable linkage if you can! :D

I got a pedal from a 86 Mustang (off ebay) that I'm going to hook up to mine with a new throttle cable. The setup like I have now works, but the cable setup looks like its a whole liot easier to adjust and should feel a lot smoother.

As far as jets go, your just going to have to read your plugs to see if its running rich or lean.

Go to a salvage yard and get everything off a 78 or 79 Fairmont...
Pedal, cable, stops, hardware... should not cost you more than 15 dollars or so...
most of it bolts in, you have to drill a couple of holes in the firewall...
and I had to shorten my pedal a little and re-drill the bracket to mount a Mustang pedal, but the setup worked great and the cable linkage is much smoother and has a better response than the stock linkage....

You can search a few posts for Cable throttle and turn up some of the adventures and pics of the setup I made... also if you want an easier setup, but a little more costly you can get a Lokar pedal setup from Summit it bolts to the floor and does basically the same thing, but it does not look stock... and is a little costly in my opinion.

Cheers!

My main focus right now is to get the thing runnin, lol, so Ill prolly just make the original linkage work for now then Ill go cable when I can. I just wanna get it runnin for now. Any other ideas???
