Hello all. I have my linkage hooked up for the tri-carb setup. I have a question about how to hook up the piece that comes from the gas pedal to the linkage i put on for the tri-carb setup. Do i have to modify it? I have the original gas pedal and the linkage that comes off the gas pedal. If you have a modification done to hook the two up could you please put up a picture or email me so i can get an idea.

Thanks

There are a number of ways to do it.

Some have bent the accelerator rod to make it fit. To me that's a long bend.

Personally, I went to a local hardware store and bought 6 feet of Aluminum flat stock. I measured from the accelorator rod to the Offy linkage connections. If you look, you should have a second hole behind your originaly ball joint on your accelerator rod. I put a rod with a hole for a cotter pin on one side and a bot head on the other. I put that through the rod. On the other side of the flat stock, I drilled a hole for a ball joint and put that there. The reason I got 6 feet was it took some trial and error to get it to work. You'll also need to make a slight bend in the flat stock to make it like up right.

DON'T use nyla-lock nuts...I learned this the hard way...they will melt beside the exhaust and you will lose your connection and be stuck on the side of the road with no way to get home... ;

I'll snap a picture when I get home of how I made mine.

While it doesn't show it in the pictures (since I went back to only 1 carb), the bend is necessary to clear the Offy linkages. Basically, you need to bend the rod out about an inch, and then make it so the linkage you make makes up for the inch and clears the linkages for the offy. Good luck.
