I bought an intercooler from a 3rd gen RX7 and was thinkin it would fit in the grill in order to get as much air to it as possible. Took the front apart today and the intercooler BARELY wont fit without any cutting, and I dont wanna cut it. Anyone know where to get a good custom fit intercooler for cheap? Or maybe other good mounting places/good intercoolers to use? Oh, Im lookin to boost 10-15 psi or so

Hey matt long time no talk! Any way, i have one idea for you that you can go about two diffrent ways. You could buy a R front apron and try to mount the I/c behind it in the flow of the air. The Second option i saw on a 66 fastback that had an 03 cobra motor, with a FMIC. Any way the took a stock front apron and drilled like 1/2 inch holes in the front of the apron where the plate would go in a nice patter. This gave it a real hidden sleeper type of look and i assume it gave them enough air for the intercooler. I havea picture of it if you catch me on aim!

Hey man, sure has been a while! I have seen the pics, I looked into putting it down under the front valence, but its TIGHT. I will have to do some measuring to see what i can do. I would love to mount it low and put a chin spoiler on to dwar air in, but Im not sure as of right now WHAT Im gonna do. Back to the drawing board.

What about using a water to air intercooler? Check out www.pwr.com.au & have a look at their liquid to air Barrel cooler! Very small & handles alot of HP!

Ive seriously looked into it, but right now I am on a TIGHT budget, well, I dont wanna spend more than I have too. Right now I have a few ideas to toss around, but in reality, i dunno what the heck Im gonna do. When we get the motor in the car I will look into it more

well the cheapest way to do a custom IC is to hack a stock ic up. are the tanks too big? if it is jsut a little maybe you can cut them back and have a patch put on them? if you do all of the fitting and just need it welded it won't cost too much then

Thats very true. I just went out in the crappy, cold rain and did some measuring and I now have another idea brewing in my head... I will have to look into it more when the time comes tho
