I've got a loud starter on a '74 Bronco with 200 motor. It always turns right over, but the starter is very loud. Any thoughts on what this could be? It is missing the engine to transmission plate, but I don't think this would make it any noisier. I did try shimming the starter with some shims that are the same thickness as the plate, but it was probably a little louder if anything. Thoughts?
