Hi Guys,
Does anybody have a set of Magnaflows on thier 6? After installing the dual out Cliffords & full dual setup with 4" round mini Turbo Mufflers, (Heartthrob turbopack), I have lost most of my hearing;-). I am pulling those & bought some Magnaflow 4x9" ovals that are about 20" long & have 2" center in, center out configuration.

They arrived today & I guess I thought they'd be more like a turbo muffler. They look exactly like a glasspack on the inside, straight through. The only difference is that they are surrounded by the big oval with some glass insulation. They will obviously have a deeper sound than the 4" mufflers I have or any glasspack. I think I need something a lot quieter, but want to know if anyone is running these & what the sound is like.

Let me know,
Thanks,

I ran one on a 2. litre honda. It made the most power of the three setups I tried, but was too loud for day to day use. On the other hand, a friend of mine has run them on both a volvo turbo (2.5") and an mr2 turbo (3"). despite the massive size both those setups were relatively quiet, thanks to the turbochargers. They will definetly be way quieter than glasspacks, but louder than turbo mufflers by a fair bit. They do have the lowest backpressure of anything out there, though.

Well, For those of you that think glasspacks are not too loud on your 6, I will sell these beautiful Magnaflows to you if Big Exhaust won't take them back. I have not installed them. Here are the ones I bought:

2" inlet & outlet, centered. 20" long, 24" overall. $59.15 each

They are amazingly well made & look great. It's just that they will be too loud for my convertible. I think my turbo mufflers are too loud, so these won't be any quieter. If you would like to buy them, they are still in the boxes. They are supposed to be the least restrictive muffler on the market. Glasspack performance with a quieter, throatier sound.
Let me know,

Oh, the muffler debate goes on. I do know that if you want a non restrictive muffler, they're all going to be loud. I took the advice of a past post about the JC Whitney Hi Performance mufflers and installed them yesterday. I can't be happier, they sound great with my dual out headers. Just what I was looking for and less than 30.00 apiece to boot. If you look through them you can see through, but only partially, and they don't have that droning hum at highway rpm.
My two cents.
