Major Cooling Problems

ok so i was on my way home from my grandmothers house and it was going alright but after i stopped to get some gas my car started to heat up and didnt stop until the needle was baout 3/4 of the way across my temp gauge and no matter wut i did it wouldnt cool off and all of the time i was on the interstate going a little over the speed limit trying to get more air into the radiator but nothing would cool it off and i was wondering wut would cause this i know it cant be the thermostat cause it is only like 3 or 4 months old and i ahve a new flex fan i was just wondering if anyone knew wut would be causing this

Do you really know it was getting too hot? By this, I mean that the stock gauges aren't much better than idiot lights. Mine reads a bit over 3/4 to "H" with the latest sending unit when it's about 220* at the radiator (measured with pyrometer) but it took 4 sending units to get it that way. It would randomly change with the first one after I'd had it for a couple months. A mechanical gauge is the only way to know for sure what your temps are. If there's no steam leaking from anywhere, you can't hear boiling sounds and your head gasket isn't weeping coolant down your block there's no need to panic.

well i know there is a prblem cause my car usually runs at about a 1/4 of the way up the temp gauge and the only time it went that high before was when i was in traffic and didnt have a thermostat and once i got it home i popped the hood and a may ahve heard a boiling sound but im not sure if it was actually a boiling sound

If it happened suddenly, I'd suggest you check for a leaky head gasket. Either compression test, or get a radiator shop to test the coolant for carbon peroxide.
