Making buildup progress! Pulley alignment ?

I'd be interested in the diameter of the performance damper, if anyone has it.

We took that into consideration when designing the hipo balancers and made them the same as the early ones so they would fit all applications.

Cool..Thanks all! Looks like I'll have a nice, freshly painted '78 water pump for sale! I'll have to drop back to the earlier shorter version and stick with my single groove WP for now. Mike's HiPo balancer is REALLY nice BTW!

Me...?

Yes you, Rick. I knew you would hit it out of the park, thanks for coming through.

anyone (Rick) have measurements on the smaller/early double sheave puley? Rick, does the pulley you made match the early short pump? If so, the measurements are in the PDF you mde at the posted link above right?

if my math is right (and your PDF is right):

1.025" from the face of the pulley to groove #1 and 1.725" to groove #2

Just got an email from a guy selling a pulley for a 69-70 I200. Says the groove measurements are 1" and 1 5/8". Without a micrometer, I'd say that sounds about right, no?

well, maybe that pulley won't work. He said the bolt centers are 2 1/4 and the center hole is .75". Rick's PDF has the bolt centers at 1.75" and the center hole 5/8"

The pulley part number is C9ZZ-8509-A if that helps

As you said, if you get the short water pump you can use the single pulley you have until you find the correct double. I think it's going to have to be from the 65/66 era. I don't know when they stopped using the short neck. As long as you are getting the correct pulley for the pump you are using the alignment will be correct. I would try the Mustang part houses's referenced earlier in the thread for the older style. You could check the NAPA sit to see what pump pulls up for the 69/70. That pulley sounds like another v8 to me. I posted what I believe to be the correct part # for the short neck earlier, C4ZE 8509-A.

No no...sorry! I meant the pulley I was looking at not the one you listed.

The pulley in the PDF is on my car now and it's for a short nose water pump. I took all the measurements off the remains (long story) of a stock short double pulley. Marco pointed out a few months ago that the groove pitch was off and it has since been corrected in the PDF (was 40*, now 35*).

rick...are you using that fan?
Nope, it wasn't doing the job with the original rad-A/C setup. The blades were trimmed (marked on a lathe and then cut and sanded) a bit to clear the radiator support, so it's not in as new condition. PM me for more info.

Don't know if his center dimension is right, the after market fans have slotted holes to fit both V8 and I6 pump face bolt patterns, while the center holes are the same.
