does anyone have any experience using these?
what do they compare to a DS2 or a DUI?
thanks,
Julian

Unilite is a good unit and comparable in quality to any Ign out there , its only short coming is that its sensitive to Voltage ( explained in the instructions , but many times ignored ) you need to be sure voltage ( after up and running for 15-30 min) does not exceed 10-10.5 volts , other than that its fine , I have been Recurving/Rebuilding Distributers since 1975 seen lots of systems come and go and can tell you the good or bad in all. The Ford Duraspark I, or II is by far the Best Bang for the money , a properly prepared Dist ( IE Recurved Correctly ) along with a stock or Aftermarket Box and a Good Ign Coil is all any For 6 would need or can use , you can spend more . and some look cool ( relitive term ) but thats all. Ive always made suggestions to my customers, but in the end its what they want not always what they need. and what THEY want to spend .

thanks for the input!
well, i already have the mallory. and i know anything beats the stock ignition system. so i guess i'll just stick with it. i'd rather go with a DS2 or DUI... but a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush as they say...

I have been running a Unilite with a FlameThrower coil (left over from a failed Pertronix setup) for the past two Summers and I have been very happy with it and have had no problems.

The only downsides I see are the price (my Dad had apparently bought it back in the 90's and it had been sitting in the box the whole time - so the price wasn't an issue for me) and the voltage sensitivity. I just make sure to disconnect (there is a in-line plug in the wire to the dizzy) whenever I do anything electrical to the car.

8) one thing with the unilite module, if you have an early generation unilite, definitely follow FSD advice, otherwise you will have issues with the unilite module. the early modules were not the most reliable systems, but mallory has made many improvements over the years and they have become as reliable as the pertronix units are.
