A friend just bought a 70 1/2 falcon with a 250 and wants to put a manual choke on it,does anyone know if there were a application from the factory that had a manual choke. Was these motor used in the early econoline vans since I think they all had manual chokes,we could use one of those kits but I like using factory parts when available.

By the time the 250 came out, most vehicles had automatic chokes. You may be able to use the manual choke setup from an early Falcon or Econoline.

Good Luck.

What carb does he have? Depending on the carb, there may well be an earlier manual choke assembly that'd work. Autolite 1100's had them, I don't know about the Carter RBS or the later Holley 1940 carbs.

Interesting that someone else just got a 1970 1/2 Falcon also. Mine has the 250 with an electric choke RBS on it. It is a 4 dr wagon with C4 auto, power disc brakes, power steering, air conditioning & a Philco AM radio. This is definitely a baseline model with rubber floormats, not carpeting. The tailgate only functions as a tailgate, and is not hinged to use as a door also like many were equipped. Hardly any chrome either, just bumpers, tailight bezels, tailgate window surround and top/side of windshield. It has 67,109 miles on the odometer. Is your friends a 2dr or 4dr?

Its a 4 door, white with a blue interior and 250/C-4 with armstrong steering and manual brakes. I cant belive it has rust free front fenders and I have no clue on what carb it has and it has about 85,000 miles.
