You have to check the posts of Jack Collins, Mustang Six. He said there is a standard gear reduction 352-361-390-406-427 FE starter with the same pitch used on Fords, and its compact. Ford starters, no matter if its 132, 139, 148, 157, 160, 164 or 188 teeth flywheel, they all have a similar teeth pitch on the pinion, its just where it sits that makes up for the size of the flexplate or flywheel.
