it looks like the '72 200ci engine i am getting is paired with a c4 tranny. what will it take to drop the hole assembly in place of my 170 & fordomatic? is it just a straight swap or are there any mods needed

Thanks
Eddie.

You may have to just change the cross member for the tranny, and the shifter lay out is different so the marks P R N D L (on your colum shifter) most likely will not line up.. the shifter might not let you get all of the gears cause you've added and extra spot so you might not get a low hold spot... cause the new tranny well be P R N D 2 L... All thro it might not matter if you don't plan on any point having to hold it in low (1st.).

falconparts.com sells an adapter to mount a c4 in 60-64 cars, can anybody confirm that my '64 driveshaft either will or won't work? or will i need to get the mav driveshsft too? (if i have to get the '72 mav driveshaft i assume it would not work with my rear end either?

Thanks for putting up with my lack of knowledge.
Eddie.

If you get the drive shaft for the new motor/tranny then thats one lest part you'll have to buy from the drive line shop.. like the front yoke.

can i take the yoke from the maverick and hook it up to my old rear? then use the mav driveshaft?
