I keep catchin flack from a friend about:
1. How the "C" word is better than Ford
and
2. How I need to stop foolin with my motor and get a bigger one.
He keeps tellin me why my turbo idea wont work because I either dont have a big enough motor, its not new enough, I have a carb and that wont work, etc. Im gettin tired of it. I have the turbo, intercooler and now ALOT of motivation to keep pushin it. I hope by next Christmas I will be gettin it movin. I guess the point of this post is to ask the turbo, or anyone who has an oppinion, what should I look into getting, carb wise, BOV wise, boost controller etc. I havea holley 2300 right now, 350cfm, but I will prolly bump that up to 500 before then. Anything yall wanna say guys????

we wil need more info,

need to know what ur max boost will be.
what other mods done to car (manily concerning incrsed capacity and head work, cam etc..)

as for boost controller, i always find best is the bleed vlave, ok so it aint the flashest, brightest gizmo around but...

i mount mine on my gear stick, i have a boost gauge in the cabin as well.
and i just bleed of boost presure to the wastegate to adjust my boost, the gated types are the bomb as they (somehow) improve spool time.

as i drive along i adjust the boost to what ever psi i want (usually 1 full turn = 1 psi) they only cost 120 bux or so as well add a guage (20 bux) you have a controller thats less then 200. most of the electronic ones are 300 bux plus.

it actually quite fun on the road..

in previous cars i've gone out cruising on 6 psi, i'd line up against a hsv (gen3 350 chev) thats pushing 265kw. i'd race him he'd beat me, then i adjust boost and wind it up to 15 psi and then say seeee ya!!! i love it.

cheers.joe.

I have a hard time understanding how a company so advanced as gm is why in the hell it took them 32 years how to seal a valve cover on a small block engine (55' to 87') this was one sorry design for a sealing surface.
Even though ford did put some dizzys in the back of an engine, last one i know of is the 292-312 engines. No car is as bad as some of the ones gm has came up with.

Matt,
By the looks of your "sig" your got the makings of a great turbo setup. Keep the Holley 2 barrel, mod it for blow-thru operation, fab a log header, and have some fun! Use a wastegate and a blow off valve before the carb somewhere to relieve pressure when you let off the pedal.
BTW it looks like you'll beat me to the turbo setup. I'm currently getting together a 250 (U.S.), a C4, T-04 turbo, Holley 2300, and putting it into a '63 Falcon. Trying to get the thing into the 12's!
Good luck to ya and post up some pics when you get the chance. I'd really like to see the set up!
Later,
Will

Thanx for the replies. I am running the t04b and dont really want anything that fancy as far as a boost control, how about a turbo timer. This will be my everyday ride, do I need to have one so it will let the turbo cool down a bit? I am going to slowly keep workin on getting these parts then I should be getting it goin soon!!!!!!!! I just now got it runnin from the mods below and love it, but once I go turbo, it will rule.
