I am getting ready to pull my 200 out of my 66 Mustang to start a complete rebuild... where are the most safe spots to bolt the chain to the engine to remove it?

just find any 3/8 or larger bolt hole on hte head or block, and that'll do just fine. i usually use a power steering bracket and on the rear i use one of the block-to-bellhousing bolts, by removing the bolt and tapping it into the opposite side of teh hole, but thats on big-blocks, i havent laid wrench on the small block.

My 66 had 2 extra holes in the back that look to be for a larger bell. One of them had the ground strap in it. The front I used the bolts that hold that plate on above the oil filter. I pulled mine with the C4. One thing I learned the hard way is dont grab an inline down low like near the oil pan, they can easily flip. The shop manual shows some sort of hook device grabing the exhaust manifold.

If you pull the hood and the head before you pull the engine, you can use the corner head bolts, which makes it really easy, especially if your hoist has an equalizer bar on it. =) I've pulled quite a few of these.
