Alright guys, whats the deal with this combo? Where can i get the duraspark 2 and what MSD box should i use? I listened to the66mustang's audio file and his sounds like it runs a lot better than mine at idle and sounds like it starts up faster and better and idles better.
Thanks Guys!!!!!!! :D

I got my duraspark from the local napa store. Tell them you are looking for a 79 model fairmont with a 200. As far as the MSD Box, I think summitt has them.

Any of the 6 series MSDs will work. 5 series are worth it anymore, and 7 and 8 series are overkill for a normal engine (anything short of serious oval track or strip).

I got my DS2 from Autozone. Like mentioned before...79 Fairmont with a 6 cylinder (200 or 250).

Like they said the DS you can get at autozone and the MSD 6AL as well, mine for the ranger show truck was $5 more than summit, but I didnt' have to pay shipping and any trouble I have and I just take it back and they swap it, and the MSD is great, it does run much better.

However I am using a MSD dizzy (it is a 302 in the ranger) and I had the points dizzy hooked up to the MSD (points regapped to .060... I think, alot wider anyway) and I could not tell a differance in the way it runs, but I got the MSD Pro-Billet for looks so IMO I would retain the stock points and try the MSD and see before I spent the money on the Duraspark unless the DS is cheap (never bought one for a 200), then if you think you would gain anything swap in the duraspark. The only reason being is that I was told the big differance is the MSD box, the points dizzy will be fine to about 6,000 RPM the DS to about 9,000rpm and the MSD to 10,000 rpm+ of which the the 200 will see, what, 4,500 RPM max?
