My carb

Hi All

I have got to the point of cutting my throttle rod and getting it set up to fit my Holley 5200.Instead of bending the rod I have cut it at the point where I wanted to increase the angle.Once I have done this and set up the pedal and the actual throttle,I will mark the two ends and put back together. My question is whether I can attach the two ends mechanically or weld it.I am not much of a welder,so I would take it somewhere to do.Once done though,I think it is going to work without changing over to cable.

i would weld it if it were mine. in fact i just cut mine and as soon as i get the rest of the linkage pieces i need mocked up, im going to weld it. see if theres someone in your area that can weld and doesnt mind helping you out, welding something that small shouldnt cost much anyways.

Weld it. It shouldn't be a huge problem if you prep it right. Grind the butt end into a V shape, like a rounded pencil, and fill the gaps with your welder.

Or just have it done, but either way it is a much easier, more stable and more permanent way than any other.

would you mind posting a photo when you get the work done? thanks. Getting ready for that project myself.
