All Small Six Need help degreeing cam

This relates to all small sixes
So using clay smith dial indicator, degree wheel and new custom ground cam. I came up with 93 lobe center when the sprockets were dot aligned. Did it multiple times with the same result. Then I moved the sprocket/chain one tooth offsetting dots as pictured below and came up with 111 center lope when it’s suppose to be 110. Anyone else experience having to off set dots in order to achieve straight up lope center? My ultimate goal is 105 intake92468E5A-2487-4B1B-8851-A144E75F7D8F.jpeg

Which year of Timing Gears and Chain Set are you trying to use? It looks like a much later model set and totally wrong for what you want to do. The best stock one for a performance Cam install is going to be about the 1965 to 1968 set, better still is a Duel Roller chain set

I found Clay Smith grinds his cam for the newer cam chains (Retarded for smog) best bet is to buy the timing chain Bubba mentioned above. another thing my trials and errors have shown me is, turn the engine over by the trans side of the crankshaft using flex plate bolts and a pry bar, the reason why is you can slightly turn the degree wheel if using the the front of the crank which completely messes up the process.
good luck
