Hey guys,

I posted a question awhile back (thinking early last year, maybe) asking about the factory combution chamber size for the later 200/250 cylinder heads. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

I cc'd my head last year and came up with 68cc (average) before I milled .040 off. Would that sound about right? The head is dated '77.

Also, with these heads, or anyone for that matter, what is the most that can be milled (thinking extreme compression)? I know it would take a mixture of water and alcohol in order to keep the head within a reasonable operating temperature.

Hello, stang200

First
check out the 144-250 head swap FAQ sticky in this forum.

Also see this site: http://mustangmonthly.com/techarticles/173_0312_ford_six_perform_guide/

Now from my recent first hand experience with '83 EOBE head:
Due to time constraints, i.e. laziness, I only CC'd #'s 1and 6 and came up with 59 & 60 cc's. After milling .100", both measured 46 cc which works out to just about 1 cc for every .007" removed.

Due to varying chamber designs your results may differ.
Also worth noting: A smaller chamber will not "shrink" as fast as a larger one, it will have a greater "thousandths of an inch to CC ratio" and vice versa.

P.S. in case the link doesn't work, your '77 head is reported to be 62 cc and .090" is said to be a safe amount to mill.

Hope this helps :) ,
Ron

What you have is correct, as far as the linking, but you need to finish out the end of whatever you are trying to link with a [/url].

P.S. Thanks!

thats not working exactly but you can get to the article on 6 cylinders by clicking on home page and then on tech articles. It's on page 2 and within the article is a box that can be enlarged with a cyl. head CC chart inside.

me not too good with computer

Thanks.

What you typed is correct but the and are placed around the text that you want link to a website.
